Drawing for jewellery!
I know there are lots of different places to buy jewellery making tools- some are better than others! lots of the bigger companies are overseas but you can get great tools for a good price if you watch the exchange rate. Sometimes its worth buying something from England that will get to you in 10 days, rather than having to wait months for it to reach our shores! So here are a few favourites of mine- in Australia and overseas!
www.benchsupplies.com.au. Run by Trent MacKay a jeweller with 20 years experience, Trent has just started up this website- selling most burs and polishing heads but at a really good price- all quality stuff, and he is very helpful. I just bought a couple of stamps from www.telama.com.au based in WA. I bought a 9ct hallmark stamp for $45.00 good quality and CHEAP! I bought another gooseneck 4 letters custom for $95 and I happen to know that going to another well know company- that would cost you a lot more! www.labanda.com.au is for watchmakers really- but obviously have tools for jewellery makers. You have to have an ABN to get stuff from their site, but they seem to have a good range that changes. I bought a burnisher from them and its going great guns! I buy some of my chains for my pendants from www.adelaimports.com very competitive prices & easy to communicate with. Once again you need an ABN. Here are some of the others I use; www.koodak.com.au based in Melbourne. www.cjservice.com.au Craig and Steve based in Maroochydore www.gemscuts.com.au based in Ballina NSW- lots of great tools for lapidary! In the nest post I'll show you some more- and some of the great overseas sites!! Great jewellery sites!
